Frequently Asked

What’s your position on inclusivity?

I am absolute about my inclusivity policy B ecause L ove U nites E verything so this principle influences every action of BLUE. All of my procedures were created though the lens of inclusivity so that you’ll feel safe, celebrated, and welcomed here.

Where do we start or how to book you?

After you’ve checked out my Work tab, head to the Method tab to explore both the Process + Offerings tabs and then Inquire from there.

How many months from our wedding should we book your services?

Depending on the level of commitment that you’re seeking (see Offerings for details), you should expect to book floral only services between two-ten months before your date and 12+ months for Cultivate if your venue hasn’t been secured.

Do you travel outside of Portland?

I absolutely LOVE to travel so would love to accommodate your out-of-state or destination wedding!

Do you have a minimum?

I don’t carry minimums but have pricing guidelines that can be found in the Offerings tab.

Why are wedding flowers so expensive?

There are so many factors that influence the investment you’ll make for your wedding flowers. The process of producing wedding floral is no joke, so I’m linking a recent blog post here for an in-depth dive into how elaborate the commitment of wedding floral really is. If you’re not sure what a reasonable budget is, generally, the floral portion of your wedding budget lands within 12-15% of your overall budget.

I love (specific flower), can you get them for our wedding?

I want to give you the wedding of your dreams and sometimes that involves including sentimental elements such as specific flowers. Many times this isn’t an issue but it is true that some flowers can’t be reasonably sourced for your wedding date. If having specific flowers are non-negotiable, I’d recommend choosing a wedding date that allows you to include these specific elements otherwise we’ll explore alternatives that achieve a similar aesthetic + emotion!

Can we get a sample of our flowers before our wedding?

I don’t typically offer floral mock ups because the planning phase often falls outside of the season of your wedding date, so samples at that time wouldn’t accurately represent your floral choices. However, samples requested 4 or fewer weeks prior to your wedding date will be accommodated with this service added to the final bid.

You offer event + floral design but not planning or coordination- why?

Wedding Planner, Coordinator, & Event Designer are terms that are frequently used interchangeably despite each having their own responsibilities so understanding them can be confusing. While the are similarities within functions of each, the defining elements are explained here.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE designing each detail of a wedding (I want to create them- not just coordinate them) so feel most at home when I’m both the wedding designer + florist. What I don’t love are timeline and budget creation + management despite have a fully-formed understanding of both and could execute each flawlessly.

I’ve created Cultivate, which is the Event Design element of BLUE. This service works best when paired with a coordinator -either full or day-of coordination- and I’m delighted to work in tandem with these professionals!

I have a question that isn’t addressed here!

No problem- ask me anything here!
